Letter from the Chairs

Dear Friends of Blue Rock Fire Rescue,

We live in beautiful Lancaster County, where the residents who are served by Blue Rock Fire Rescue enjoy wide open spaces, the majestic Susquehanna River, and the conveniences of modern life. But ensuring the safety of our community requires a fire service that is fully equipped to respond swiftly and effectively to over 700 calls a year. We need your help to build a new firehouse on the western edge of the fire district.

BRFR Chairs speak at Washington Boro Tomato FestivalSince its incorporation in 2011 through an agreement between Manor Township and Millersville Borough, Blue Rock Fire Rescue has upheld its mission: One Team. Our Mission. Your Safety. Covering 55 square miles, including six miles of the Susquehanna River, our 100+ dedicated  firefighters work tirelessly to protect lives and property.

Day and night, volunteers leave their homes, businesses and loved ones to deliver the professional, lifesaving service our community depends on. Now it's our turn to step up—partner with us to give them the state-of-the-art firehouse they truly deserve.

The new firehouse will replace and consolidate the Highville and Washington Boro buildings. The new firehouse, alongside our existing stations in West Lancaster and Millersville, will strengthen our ability to respond efficiently across the district. This larger, modern facility will enhance emergency response times and provide a building our volunteers will be proud to call their own.

To make this vision a reality, we have launched a $10 million fundraising campaign. Your support of our volunteers is vital. Whether through individual donations, corporate sponsorships, or community partnerships, every contribution brings us closer to building a firehouse that will serve our families, neighbors and future generations.

Will you answer the call? Together, we can ensure that Blue Rock Fire Rescue volunteers remain ready to protect and serve our community for years to come.

With gratitude,
